The SSET Follows a Management Approach:

The SSET is structured around 9 chapters. Chapters one and two guide you throught planning and implementation of your sustainability strategy. Chapters three to nine focus on five key functional areas of organizing a sport event.

3. Site Selection and Construction
4. Venue and Office Management
5. Community and Supply Chain
6. Transportation and Accommodation
7. Catering, Food and Beverage
8. Marketing and Communication
9. Athlete and Public Engagement

Each chapter contains objectives, action items, performance indicators (PIs), a column to put the name of the person responsible for each objective, project status, and additional resources. These are provided as recommendations and may need to be modified to fit the specific needs of the event. Underneath each objective, the relevant standard is also listed. Where applicable, objectives will contain examples, best practices, tools & calculators, and interesting facts/statistics.
